About The Open File
Mike Petersen, owner of The Open File, has over 25 years experience. He started in 1981, the same year the IBM personal computer arrived on the scene. Since that time, there's nothing Mike hasn't done in the computer field. He has experience both as a corporate employee and consultant. He spent several years working in the retail computer market until he joined SunTrust in 1986. That year, Mike installed SunTrust Bank's first ever local area network in Orlando. From there he went on to become a Systems Analyst at several companies, eventually working up to the level of Information Systems Director. Mike realized that directing others wasn't as much fun as "getting his hands dirty", so he gravitated to working with several network consulting firms in the Orlando area. Today, Mike is recognized as an expert in the field.
In addition to working with computer systems and networks, Mike has been doing consulting and design on the Internet since its inception. (No, he didn't invent the Internet...Al Gore did that.)
